Liz and Vaughan bought Safeplay in 1999 and have continued
with the company philosophy of providing fun and safe play
equipment and matting for indoor and outdoor play areas.
Safeplay now consists of a small, dedicated team who love what
they do.
The Safeplay Team are
Vaughan
Director, design, quoting, sales and advisor, main role:
chief cup of tea maker? A born and breed Kiwi, Vaughan
is the father to four children aged 15 to 30 years.
Vaughan has been in business and design all his working
life.
Liz
Director, accounts, design, quoting, part time machinist
and general dogs body. Liz background is in banking,
analyst, accounts, and mother to two teenage boys.
Marieta
Designer and Machinist. Marieta comes to us direct
from Bulgaria. She is bright and beautiful and a real asset to
the business. She is a mother of young Kristian and has been
with the company since 2004.
Manu
Part time muscle man. Manu is great, he gets to do all the
heavy jobs around the place. He is doing a full time degree at
AUT and comes to us in his free time. Manu has been with the
company since he was at school in 2002.
Ralph
Our designer in timber equipment, and projects.
Ralph works mainly with native timbers, and creates themed structures
and play toys such as stoves, furniture, work benches for kindys, bridges, platforms, stairs, cubby houses, animals, seesaws, lunch tables and chairs,
forts, towers, rockets and much more.
Also makes our raised sandpits and school seating/ benches.
Warren
Our engineer, for all metal products
Warren works in all metals, and constructs and builds, both play gear
and gymnastic equipment.
He also constructs sports gear and bleacher seating, and is often asked to repair other companies products, so they will last longer, and be more user friendly.
Max
Max the golden retriever spends his days in at work with
us. He likes to welcome all visitors especially if they bring
food. If all else fails Max makes his way down to the lunch
bar to check out any food that might be on offer. His main
role is in guarding the foam when it comes in from the
suppliers. |
